Since then the firm has grown to more than 100 people and currently employs 59 lawyers.In 2007 Asters went through significant changes in the firm partnership structure and management. Igor Shevchenko, co-founder and Managing Partner of the firm, decided to quit legal practice and withdraw from the partnership and concentrate on the social work chairing The Forum of Young Ukrainian Leaders. Another partner, Rysbek Toktomushev, also relinquished legal practice and his work in the firm and headed the investment company “Eurasia – Ukraine”.Three senior associates of the firm – Igor Svechkar, Iryna Pokanay and Svitlana Poroschuk – were promoted to the partners’ status, and today Asters has seven partners on its board.Following more than 12 years of excellence in serving its clients a renowned Ukrainian law firm Shevchenko Didkovskiy & Partners announced on 21 February 2008 that it changed its name to Asters. Asters is derived from Greek and Latin notion of "stars".Today, Asters is a law firm of international renown. It is acknowledged as by the market as a top-quality legal service provider in each area of its operation, the lawyers are recognized by legal listings as the best in their practice areas.General governance of the firm is conducted by the partners’ meeting while operating management is realized through the executive committee which includes Managing Partner Oleskiy Didkovskiy and Senior Partner Armen Khachaturyan.Oleksiy Didkovskiy, Managing Partner.
